Reading the Status

Ignition Lock presents itself to the system as a "HID Direct Input Game Pad" with four buttons. These work like this:

Transition OFF -> START       Button 1 (200ms)
Transition START -> OFF       Button 2 (300ms)
Transition START -> IGNITION  Button 3 (300ms)
Transition IGNITION -> START  Button 4 (200ms)

This encoding was choosen to ensure a) that your application always "sees" each state transition and b) no extra "debounce" is required, the state that is reported last is always the current valid state.

Status LED

The status LEDs show the state of the ignition lock:

White   - switch in OFF position
Yellow  - switch in START position
Blue    - switch in IGNITION Position
