The Clock Port was originally used to connect a RTC module to the Amiga 1200, and has since then been used for many other expansions. Also the clock port itself was added to various expansions/modules/cartridges, so clock port accessories can be used with those. Please keep in mind that not all "hosts" will work work with all accessories, refer to the documentation of the host/carrier card.
